Crespo Guido Makes History at CSC Convention

ORLANDO, Fla. - Diego Crespo Guido, the Communications and Creative Content Graduate Assistant for EMU Athletics, made history on Wednesday when the College Sports Communicators announced their winners of the 2024-25 CSC Creative and Digital Design Contest. Crespo Guido saw two of his videos bring home four awards within the Hype/Pregame Video category, marking the first time in EMU Athletics history that a Royal has placed in the CSC Creative and Digital Design Contest award.

Crespo Guido's EMU Baseball Hype Video, which was published on April 14, is a culmination of highlights for the Royals 2025 season. It brought home second place in the Division III category and sixth place in the College Division, which encompasses all of Division II, Division III, NAIA and Canadian institutions. He followed that up with a fourth place Division III and ninth place College Division win for his Men's Volleyball Hype Video.

"In just his first year at EMU, Diego has taken our media game to a whole new level," said Justin McIlwee, Director of Athletics Communications and Advertising. "I would say, what he's doing with video for the Royals, is right up there with some of the best in all of Division III. It's been incredible to see some of the work that he's put out this year. This recognition is extremely deserving and I can't wait to see what he does in year two."

Crespo Guido is a 2025 graduate of James Madison University, where he earned a BA in Media Arts and Design with a minor in Sports Communication. Over the summer, he interned with the U.S. Tennis Association for the 2024 U.S. Open Tennis Championships.

Each year, CSC recognizes outstanding work by the membership in the area of creative and digital design. Entries are focused on pregame or "hype" videos and can include in-stadium/arena videos or starting lineup videos. All video entries must be developed in-house and not from an outside agency. The winners were announced on Wednesday at the annual CSC National Convention, which is being held in Orlando, Florida in 2025. To see all of the 2025 winners, click here.
