Dean, Fravel Named to All-ODAC Teams

FOREST, Va. - The Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced its end-of-season all-conference teams on Tuesday, and two Royals were named All-ODAC.

Meaghan Dean was named All-ODAC Second Team at first base while Grace Fravel was named Third Team All-ODAC at third base.

Dean, a sophomore transfer from Bloomfield College, made her mark on the ODAC in a big way. The Madison, Virginia native finished the season ranked near the top of the ODAC in most major statistical categories. Her .437 average led the Royals and was third overall in the conference. She was third in the ODAC in hits, with 55 and was the ODAC leader in home runs with six. From the #3 spot in the order, she drove in 25 runs, good enough for 10th in the conference. She was second in total bases (82), second in OPS (1.122) and third in slugging percentage (.651). Dean had nine doubles, and struck out just four times in 126 at bats. In the field, she was seventh in the ODAC with 167 put-outs and made just two errors with a .988 fielding percentage from her spot at first base.

Fravel found herself named All-ODAC for the second time in her career. The senior from Broadway, Virginia finished the season with a .366 average, which was second best on the team and tied for 13th in the ODAC. She led the team with 134 plate appearances and was second with 49 hits. She was just behind Dean with five home runs, which brought her career total to 17. She scored 27 runs, which was the most on the Royals and top-15 in the conference. Her average dipped to .294 on March 8, and after that, she went on a tear, pulling it up more than 70 points. She rode an 11-game hit streak into the final game of the season and finished the regular season, two EMU wins over Randolph, going 4-7 with a double, 4 RBI and a pair of runs.
