SALEM, Va. – The EMU Track & Field team ended January and began February by bringing athletes from every event group to the Bast-Cregger Invitational at Roanoke College in Salem, Va.
The Royals went toe-to-toe with a deep field that included competition from Division I and Division II schools, along with several members of the ODAC.

- DISTANCE/MID-DISTANCE
- 3000m Run: Halie Mast showed the way for the Royals in the 3k, finishing seventh overall in a time of 11:07.52. Erin Loker set a new PR of 11:32.44 for 13th place, with Jenna Weaver right behind her in 14th in a time of 11:33.72.
- SPRINTS
- 60m Hurdles: Faith Schultz returned to action with a 16th-place finish and a time of 10.32 in the 60m hurdles.
- JUMPS
- Long Jump: Schultz leapt 4.47m (14'-8") on her best jump of the day.
- THROWS
- Weight Throw: Lily Gatesman's best mark in the weight throw went 9.58m (31'-5.25").
What's Next
The EMU Track & Field team will take a much-deserved weekend off before returning to action at two separate meets on Valentine's Day weekend. A select group of athletes will fly up to Boston, Mass., to compete in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University on Friday-Saturday, Feb. 14-15. Other Royals will return to Roanoke College to participate in the Joe LaRocco Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 15.
