LYNCHBURG, Va. – With the calendar turned to May, the athletes of EMU Track & Field have shifted their focus to setting new personal best and EMU Top-10 marks as well as attempting to qualify for nationals in last chance meets.
For the women's team,
Emma Greer, a sophomore from Altavista, and
Erin Loker, a sophomore from Harrisonburg, achieved new personal records and moved up the EMU all-time lists in their respective events during a pair of last chance meets in the Lynchburg area over the past week.

- DISTANCE
- 5000m Run: Competing against a field of mostly Division I runners in the Hill City Twilight on Saturday, May 2, Loker ran a new PR time of 18:35.04, 12 seconds faster than her previous best at the ODAC Championships a week ago. With that performance, Loker moves up to fifth on EMU's all-time list for the outdoor 5k.
- THROWS
- Discus: Also at the Hill City Twilight, Greer finished fifth in the discus with a throw of 29.58m (97'0").
- Hammer: Greer placed fifth at the Hill City Twilight with a mark of 38.29m (125'7"). Then, at the Liberty Twilight Qualifier on Wednesday, May 6, Greer followed that up with a new personal record throw of 40.23m (132'0"), finishing eighth and further cementing her spot as third all-time in EMU history for the hammer.

The Royals continue their slate of last chance meets to close out the 2026 season with a trip to the Lee Last Chance this Saturday, May 9 in Cleveland, Tenn. The first events will begin at 10:30 a.m.
