HARRISONBURG, Va. – EMU Track & Field made its second out-of-state trip of the outdoor season on Thursday, heading to Pennsylvania for a rare mid-week meet, the Shippensburg Mid-Week Bonanza. The Royals brought a small contingent of sprinters, jumpers and throwers to compete at the Seth Grove Stadium on the campus of Shippensburg University.
Highlights
- SPRINTS
- 100m Hurdles: Faith Schultz placed 17th, clocking in at a time of 17.94.
- JUMPS
- Long Jump: Schultz landed in the sand pit at 16'0.5" (4.89m) to place 20th, followed by Angel David in 23rd at 4.76m (15'7.5").
- Triple Jump: David jumped a distance of 10.25m (33.75"), good for 14th place.
- THROWS
- Hammer: Addison Shanholtz and Lily Gatesman both set new personal records. Shanholtz's best throw went 39.38m (129'2") for 11th place, while Gatesman's third and final throw of the day landed at 33.85m (111'1") to finish in 24th.
- Discus: Gatesman placed 18th overall with a mark of 28.89m (94'9").
- Shot Put: Emma Greer was the top Royal in this event with a mark of 9.53m (31'3.25") to place 18th, followed by Shanholtz in 23rd with a throw of 9.13m (29'11.5").
What's Next
The EMU Track & Field team will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday, April 18, when they send athletes to the WildCat Invitational, hosted by Randolph College in Lynchburg. The first events of the day will begin at 9 a.m.
