Rucker, Toelau Compete in Indoor Final Qualifiers for Men’s Track & Field

HARRISONBURG, Va. –  Two EMU Men's Track & Field athletes, Koran Rucker and Filipo Toelau, capped off their outstanding first-year indoor campaigns by traveling to a pair of final qualifier meets. Toelau went to the Tufts Final Qualifier in Massachusetts, while Rucker stayed local for the South Region Final Qualifier at Shenandoah, both with the goal of qualifying for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships. While both student-athletes placed well in their events, they ultimately fell short of getting the times or marks needed to make the national meet.

Highlights
  • Tufts Final Qualifier – Medford, Mass.
    • 60m Hurdles:  Toelau placed second overall, clocking in at a time of 8.21 in the final.
  • South Region Final Qualifier – Winchester, Va.
    • Shot Put: Rucker placed fourth in the shot put with a mark of 15.86m (52'0.5") on his best throw of the day.

What's Next
This concludes the 2025-26 indoor season for men's track & field. The athletes will have a couple of weeks to recover before beginning the spring outdoor season at the Washington & Lee Track Carnival in Lexington, Va., on Friday and Saturday, March 20-21.
