SALEM, Va. – EMU Track & Field made its second trip to the Cregger Center at Roanoke College this season, taking a portion of the team to compete in the Bast-Cregger Multis Invitational. The meet featured athletes from several ODAC schools, including Averett, Bridgewater, Hollins, Lynchburg, Randolph, Washington & Lee, and the host school Roanoke.

While the women's team rested a few of the top athletes, there were still a quite a few standout showing. Most notably, throwers
Addison Shanholtz and
Emma Greer both set new personal records in the shot put.
Highlights
- SPRINTS
- 60m Dash: Nia Boyd advanced to the semifinals, finishing 24th with a time of 8.72.
- 200m Dash: Boyd finished her double with a time of 30.11 in the 200m.
- DISTANCE
- 1000m Run: Peyton LaCombe was the top Royal in this event, completing five laps of the track in 3:42.66 to place 13th. Sarah Wheeler and Eve Detter crossed the finish line in 4:00.82 and 4:20.45, respectively.
- JUMPS
- Long Jump: Angel David went 4.41m (14'5.75") on her best long jump attempt of the day.
- Triple Jump: David placed top 10 in triple jump, finishing eighth with a mark of
- THROWS
- Shot Put: Shanholtz finished 13th with her PR throw of 10.38m (34'0.75"), while Greer placed 17th with a personal best mark of 10.10m (33'1.75").
- Weight Throw: Shanholtz also took home 13th place in the weight throw, posting a throw of 12.45m (40'10.25"). Greer came in 21st place with a mark of 11.61m (38'1.25").

What's Next
The EMU Track & Field team will take athletes to two different meets next weekend on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 6-7. A select group of athletes will head to the Doc Hale Invitational at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va., while the majority of the team will travel to the VMI Winter Relays in Lexington, Va.
