CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.- On a unseasonably cool late August morning, the EMU Women's Triathlon team commenced their 2025 campaign with their annual trip to the Cal Tri Charlottesville race, hosted at Fry's Spring Beach Club in Charlottesville, Va. The triathletes completed a 350-meter swim, a 12.7-mile bike ride, and a 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) run.
Zoe Clymer was the star of the day for the Royals, winning the collegiate sprint triathlon in a time of 1:19:51, the only competitor under 1:20:00 in the collegiate division. That performance also placed her 16th in the overall competition.
Clymer was the first part of a clean sweep of the podium for EMU, as
Juliette Soos and
Sarah Wheeler finished second and third, respectively, to help the Royals defeat Hampton University in the collegiate division.
Highlights
- Soos crossed the finish line in 1:22:13 to place runner-up in her college triathlon debut for the Royals.
