SALEM, Va. – The Royals track & field teams wrapped up their indoor season over the weekend, taking on the conference's best at the ODAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.
On the men's side, the Royals combined for 13 points, putting them at ninth place in the ODAC. The championship was won by Lynchburg with a total of 213 points, followed by Washington and Lee with 91 points.
Highlights
SPRINTS
60m: Isaiah Reid set a PR in the 60 prelims, timing at 7.04 seconds and qualifying for finals. In the finals, he crossed the finish line in 7.07 seconds, good enough for eighth place.
400m: Nick Arnold garnered points for the Royals, with a sixth place finish. He crossed the tape in 50.69 seconds.
4x400 Relay: The relay of
Micah Mast,
Da'Shawn Winters,
Ethan Lloyd and Arnold picked up two points for EMU, as they crossed the finish line in seventh place with a time of 3:31.47.
DISTANCE
Bellamy Immanuel scored three points for the Royals, when he completed the 3000m run in sixth place, with a time of 8:43.11.
JUMPS
Pole Vault: Micah Mast came in clutch for the Royals, clearing the bar with a jump of 3.86 meters, which was good enough for fifth place.
THROWS
Weight Throw: Grant Leichty set a PR, when his second of three throws went a distance of 13.79 meters, which put him in 10
th place.
Shot Put: EMU had a pair of PRs in the shot, as
Christian Schmidt's throw of 13.05m was good enough for ninth place and a PR of .23 meters. Leichty followed that up with a 10
th place finish and a PR throw of 13.00m, better than half a meter from his previous PR.

This wraps up the indoor season for the Royals, but they'll be right back in action in three weeks at the W&L Track & Field Carnival.
