HARRISONBURG, Va. - In a season that saw the Royals achieve their most wins since 2019, they'll also be making their first ODAC Tournament appearance since that same year.
The ODAC announced the eight-team field on Monday, and the Royals, who finished the season 6-10-1, 4-6 in the ODAC, found themselves as the number eight seed in the tourney. They'll head down to Lexington on Saturday for a 1:00 pm showdown with top-seed and #9 nationally-ranked, Washington and Lee. The Royals and Generals did not meet during the regular season.
The Royals wrapped up the eight seed by picking up four wins in the ODAC this season: they beat Randolph, 1-0, on Sept. 27 followed by a 2-0 Homecoming win over Sweet Briar. A 4-1 win over Averett put them on the cusp of the tournament, and they clinched on Oct. 25 after a 4-1 win over Hollins.
Washington and Lee comes into the tournament at 14-2-1, 10-0 in the ODAC, as they completed their second straight undefeated ODAC season. The winner of this game will face the winner of #4 Bridgewater and #5 Randolph Macon.
Admission to the game at Alston Parker Watt Field in Lexington is free.
