GREENSBORO, NC - The Royals headed to North Carolina on Wednesday night, for a showdown with Guilford in their regular season finale.
It looked like the Royals and Quakers were heading for a tie, before a Guilford goal in the 85th minute propelled them to a 2-1 win.

Highlights
- Katie Parks was tested early, picking up four saves in the first 21 minutes to keep GC off the board. EMU's offense was also pushing forward, with Esme Cardoso and Leah Beachy each picking up shots on goal early on, but both were saved by the Quakers keeper, keeping things tied at zero.
- The Quakers got on the board in the 29th minute after a foul in the box gave them a penalty kick, which was converted by Kylee Berry, for a 1-0 lead. Neither team managed a shot on goal in the final 16 minutes, as Guilford took a 1-0 lead into the half.
- A team save and a save from CJ Jefferson kept EMU down by just one to start the second. The Guilford lead was quickly erased when, in the 57th minute, Beachy took a pass from Bridget Hay and buried her shot in the back of the net, tying things at one.
- Jefferson picked up two big saves in the 78th and 80th minute, but Guilford was able to tally the game winner at the 84:45 mark. EMU was held without a shot in the final five minutes as GC secured the win.
