Posey Brings In Six New Recruits For 2025-26 Women’s Basketball Season

HARRISONBURG, Va. – Hoops season is almost here! That means it's time to introduce the newest members of our basketball programs, starting with the women. Head Women's Basketball Coach Jenny Posey, entering her eighth season leading the Royals, has added six first-years to the roster ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. Read on to learn more about EMU's newest women's basketball players:
 
Emma Johnson
Hometown: Burlington, N.C.
High School: Western Alamance
Position: Guard
Major: Recreation & Sports Management
Club:  BBA Nets
Athletic Achievements: 1,000-Point Scorer, All-Conference, N.C. State Champion 2025

Taylor Linton
 
Hometown: Woodbridge, Va.
High School: Woodbridge Senior
Position: Guard
Major: Pre-Professional Health
Club: CTAB Elite
Athletic Achievements:  Honorable Mention All-District

Sarah Lynch
 
Hometown: Williamsburg, Va.
High School: Lafayette
Position: Guard
Major: Recreation & Sports Management

Position: Guard
Major: Public Health

Athletic Achievements:  All-Division First Team, Division Champions, MVP, Montgomery County Senior All-Star

"I chose EMU because as soon as I stepped on campus I felt welcomed by everyone I met, especially Coach Posey and the team. East time I visited, I was more and more sure that I wanted to be here my next four years."
 
 
Anabelle Simmons
 
Hometown: Poquoson, Va.
High School: Puquoson
Position: Guard/Forward
Major: Business/Recreation & Sports Management
Club:  Beach Explosion & Under Armor Elite
Athletic Achievements:  1,000 Career Points, First Team All-Region, Two-time First Team All-District, Scored a quadruple-double in a game as a junior, Second Team All-Region, Second Team All-District, Honorable Mention All-Region (2x), Warwick Holiday Classic Player of the Game (2022), State Champion and State Player of the Year in Soccer, State Runner-Up and Second Team All-State in field hockey
