HARRISONBURG, Va. - The Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced their end-of-season awards on Monday, and
Samantha Hensley was named First-Team All ODAC as an alternate at first base.
Hensley, a senior from Elkton, Va., was a monster at the plate this year for the Royals. She finished third in the ODAC with a .415 average, picking up 44 hits in 106 at-bats. She had a slugging percentage of .642, which was sixth in the conference, and an on-base percentage of .451, which put her ninth in the ODAC, for a combined OPS of 1.093, which was seventh. Her five homeruns put her at seventh in the ODAC. Her discipline at the plate was impressive as she struck out just one time, which was the best in the ODAC and didn't come until EMU's third to last game of the season.
She also led the Royals with 25 runs, 68 total bases, seven doubles, 13 extra base hits and four stolen bases. She also made big contributions with her glove, leading the Royals with 132 put outs. She boasted a fielding percentage of .971, making just four errors on the season.
This is Hensley's second straight season of being named First-Team All ODAC, as she was named to the First Team in 2023.
