FOREST, Va. - The Old Dominion Athletic Conference released their All-Conference softball awards earlier today and
Meaghan Dean found herself as an honoree for the second straight season. Dean, who was named Second Team All-ODAC at first base in 2025, was named Third Team All-ODAC as a designated player for the 2026 season.
Dean was a force for the Royals again this season, playing in and starting all 34 games for EMU, primarily from the DP position. The Madison, Va. native led the Royals with a .381 average, collecting a team-high 37 hits in 97 at-bats. She started out the season hitless in her first five games before going on a tear, picking up a base knock in 21 of the team's final 29 games, which included a seven-game hit streak. She had multiple hits in 10 games.
From a power perspective, she was tops on the team and second in the ODAC with nine homeruns, which tied her for 26th in all of DIII. She also led the team in RBI with 31 and total bases with 69, which were both top-15 in the ODAC. She was sixth in the ODAC in slugging percentage at .711 and eighth in the conference in OPS (on-base plus slugging) with 1.141. She was second on the team in both doubles (5) and runs scored (14).
