BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Friday marked the opening day of the meet that EMU's Track & Field athletes had spent months training for: the ODAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Bridgewater College.
Bellamy Immanuel carried the banner for the Royal Men on day one. The junior from Allentown, Pa., took home runner-up honors in the 3000m steeplechase, accounting for all eight of EMU's points through the opening day at ODACs.

- HURDLES
- Shaddai Bailey will compete in tomorrow's final of the 110m hurdles after finishing seventh in prelims in a personal record time of 16.47.
- Joseph Kerr placed fourth in the 400m preliminaries, first among non-heat winners with a time of 50.37 to advanced to tomorrow's final.
- Nicholas Arnold will rep the Royals in the 400m hurdle final tomorrow, placing sixth in preliminaries in a time of 57.20.
- DISTANCE
- Immanuel completed the 3000m SC in a time of 9:33.23, a personal best effort that places him second in EMU history.
- Conan O'Neil set a new personal record of 37:32.30 in the 10000m.
- THROWS
- Christian Schmidt set a new PR of 34.41m (112'-10.5") in the hammer throw to place 16th overall in the event.
What's Next
The ODAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships will resume tomorrow, Saturday, April 27. The first events at the Jopson Athletic Complex on the campus of Bridgewater College will start at 10 a.m.
