SALEM, Va. – The EMU Track & Field team put themselves to the test against the best athletes in the ODAC at the ODAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Roanoke College in Salem, Va. Overall, the Royals racked up 14 top-eight finishes across all events in the championship meet. Most notably, the men's 4x400-meter relay team of
Gray Urglavitch,
Bryson Hunter,
Da'Shawn Winters, and
Joseph Kerr garner All-ODAC Third Team honors with their third-place finish. Here are the Royals' other highlights and scoring performances:

Highlights – Men
- Damon Morgan advanced to the 60-meter dash finals, placing seventh overall with a time of 7.09 seconds. Morgan then doubled up by also finishing seventh in the 200-meter dash, completing the one-lap dash in a time of 22.74.
- Bellamy Immanuel scored in not one, not two, but three different running events. The junior distance runner placed fifth in the 3000-meter run (8:41.06), sixth in the 5000-meter run (15:26.11), and eighth in the one-mile run (4:26.07).
- Two Royals scored points in the long jump, with Hunter placing sixth with a mark of 6.73m (22'-1") and Winters finishing eighth with a jump of 6.64m (21'-9.5"). Both jumps were personal bests for Hunter and Winters.
- The men's distance medley relay team of Jansen Miller, Urglavitch, Dawson Woodruff, and Immanuel combined for a seventh-place finish, clocking in at 10:36.34.
Highlights – Women
- Jenna Weaver cracked the top eight in two distance events to score points for EMU. The junior from Harrisonburg finished seventh in the mile, crossing the finish line in 5:24.99. Weaver placed eighth in the 5000m, traversing the 25 laps in 18:49.46. That 5k time was a new personal record for Weaver.
- Angel David finished fourth in the triple jump as a first-year athlete. David landed in the sand pit at 10.91m (35'-9.5") on her best jump of the day.
- The Royal women scored points in two different relays. The distance medley relay team of Elili Asefa, David, Vanessa Gardiner, and Halie Mast placed fourth in a combined time of 13:26.04.
- To cap off the meet, the women's 4x400-meter relay squad of David, Gardiner, Faith Schultz, and Asefa came home in sixth place with a time of 4:26.97.
What's Next
EMU athletes will have one last chance to qualify for nationals when they travel an hour north to the South Region Final Qualifier at Shenandoah on Friday and Saturday, March 1 and 2.
