WINCHESTER, Va. – The EMU Track & Field team traveled to their second meet in three days on Sunday, making the one-hour trip north to Winchester for the Holiday Kickoff meet at Shenandoah University.
On the men's side,
Bellamy Immanuel led the day with a win in the one-mile run, breaking the tape in a time of 4:28.40. Immanuel's time is currently the best in the ODAC for the mile run. Immanuel was not the only Royal to perform well on Sunday, with eight of his teammates placing in the top eight in their events.

- DISTANCE/MID-DISTANCE
- 800m Run: Nate Lehman was the top EMU runner in the four-lap race, crossing the line 13th overall in a time of 2:15.83.
- Mile Run: Immanuel was in contention from the start of the race, passing Roanoke's Elias Ammon with two laps remaining and staying out front for the victory.
- 3000m Run: Charlie O'Neil represented the Royals in the 3000m, clocking in at 10:16.14 to finish 14th overall.
- SPRINTS
- 60m Dash: Isaiah Reid stood out in the 60m for the second time this weekend, making the finals and finishing fifth in a personal best time of 7.05 seconds.
- 200m Dash: Damon Morgan came home eighth overall, completing one lap of the indoor track in 23.02.
- 400m Dash: Nick Arnold crossed the line in second place with a time of 51.30.
- 60m Hurdles: Shaddai Bailey made the podium with a third-place finish and a new PR of 8.96. Bailey moved up one spot to eighth in EMU history in the 60mH.
- JUMPS
- Long Jump: Da'Shawn Winters advances to the finals and placed fourth overall, landing in the sand pit at 6.20m (20'-4").
- Pole Vault: Micah Mast managed a third-place finish, winning a tiebreaker over a competitor from ODAC rival Randolph. Mast cleared the bar at a height of 3.50m (11'-5.75").
- THROWS
- Shot Put: Christian Schmidt finished fourth with a throw of 12.70m (41'-7.75") and Grant Leichty placed right behind him in fifth with a PR mark of 12.29m (40'-3.75").
- Weight Throw: Schmidt made the finals, managing a seventh-place finish and setting a new personal record of 11.46m (37'-7.25").
What's Next
The EMU Track & Field athletes will have to wait a while before their next competition. The Royals will return to Shenandoah for the Kaye & J.J. Smith Invite on Sunday, Jan. 12, with the first events scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
