Highlights
- EMU got on the board early, taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Nick Arnold reached base on a two-our error and moved to second on Natty Solomon's infield single. After Arnold stole third, he scored on another BC error, this time off the bat of Matthew Harding. The Royals loaded the bases but a strikeout ended the frame. The Eagles tied things up in their half of the first off Will Waller, who was getting the first start of his collegiate career. But Waller settled down after that and kept BC off the board for the next three plus innings.
- The Royals added to their lead in the third, taking a 2-1 lead on an RBI single from Aidan Miller, which plated Harding. Dylan Hall then singled to second base as Logan Jones scored, followed by Miller who came home on the BC error. Three more runs in the fifth extended the Royals lead, this time with some small ball. Arnold led off with a single, stole second and then Solomon reached on an error. A sac bunt put runners on second and third before Jones' bunt single plated Arnold. Another sac bunt, this time Gulisano, drove in Solomon before back-to-back hits from Miller and Hall (another bunt), loaded the bases. A Bridgewater error off the bat of Logan Mason plated another run, giving EMU a 7-1 lead.
- Hunter West and Braydon Collier would combine to throw the final 4.2 innings. West gave up a pair of earned runs before Collier would shut the Eagles down in the eighth and ninth to pick up the save.
