LEXINGTON, Va. - The Royals brought the bats again to the yard on Tuesday night, taking a lead into the bottom of the ninth at Cap'n Dick Field of Washington and Lee.

 A last-chance rally would be the difference maker in the contest, though, with the Generals ultimately coming out on top of the Royals in walk-off fashion, 11-10.

 Highlights

• The Royals struck in the very first inning to take the early lead. Jordan Jones led the game off getting hit by a pitch. Jaylon Lee wasted no time driving the early fastball to left field, good for a double and scoring Jones all the way from first.
• Still in the top of the first, Lee stole third and was quickly scored with a Ray Tricarico double to right-center to push the score to 2-0 in the Royals favor early in the matchup.
• After a quiet second inning, EMU struck again in the top of the third. Lee knocked a single to left and stretched it for two bags, taking advantage of an error from the left fielder. Quickly taking off for third again, Lee came around to score again with a shot up the middle off the bat of Brett Lindsay.
• After falling behind 4-3 in the bottom of the third, the Royals came back with a vengeance in the very next frame. Starting with a single up the middle from Ethan Spraker, EMU rallied off four straight hits to tie the game up.
• In the same frame, with bases loaded, Lindsay knocked a single and advanced to third via mishaps from the Generals, scoring all runners to retake another commanding lead. At the end of the frame, the Royals had crossed seven total runs on eight hits.

 Standouts 

• Jones – 3-4 on the day with an RBI.
• Lee – 2-5 with an RBI and a double.
• Lindsay – 2-5 with three RBI.
• Tricarico – 2-4 with two RBI.
• Adrian Abad – 2.1 scoreless innings out of the pen with three strikeouts.

EMU turns around quickly, playing tomorrow, Mar. 30 against Southern Virginia at Royals Field with first pitch scheduled for 4:00 PM.
