Box Score BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Diamond Royals took the short trip to Bridgewater to take on the Eagles in ODAC action on Tuesday, playing a tight contest until the end.
Despite strong play throughout, EMU ultimately fell in the contest by a score of 5-2 to fall to 4-2 in ODAC play.
Highlights
- After falling behind 2-0 early in the contest, the Royals struck in the top of the fourth to get the offense going. After a leadoff walk from Brett Lindsay, Ray Tricarico moved him over via the sacrifice bunt. Robert Guenther, finding his way into the lineup with strong offensive numbers of late, hit a strong grounder to second to ultimately score Lindsay from second to cut into the Eagles' lead.
- In the top of the seventh, after a Logan Mason single and a Jordan Jones walk, the Royals were in business. With two away, Lindsay, this week's ODAC Player of the Week, knocked a single to right center, scoring Mason with ease and giving the Royals late life.
