Royals Fall To Hornets On The Road

The Eastern Mennonite lacrosse women dropped a Saturday contest on the road at the University of Lynchburg. The game finished with a final tally of 22-1. 

The Royals fell to 0-4 on the season with the loss, with the Hornets improving to 8-3, 5-1 in ODAC play. 

The Hornets took the lead quickly in the contest, with Masyn Whitten scoring off of a free position shot in the first minute of play. From there, the Hornets continued, going on an 11-0 run, taking a quick 11-0 lead in the game. 

With a little over 16 minutes left in the first half, Juliana Ghally (Aldie, Va./John Champe) made her way around the Lynchburg defenders, finding an open a shot and sinking it in the back of the net for the first goal of the day for the Royals.

The Hornets scored three more in the second half, pushing the score to its final tally of 22-1. 

Meghan Hickey (Stewartstown, Pa./Kennard-Dale) had two shots for the Royals in the game, with both of them being on goal. 

Micah Slacum had four shots on goal in the game, while also sinking her goal on the night. 

The Royals head back to the field on Monday, Apr. 12, traveling to Sweet Briar to take on the Vixens at 4:30pm.
