Guilford went ahead by a score of 2-0 in game one after the second inning with the Royals adding a pair of their own to tie the game up in the bottom of the fourth. EMU then exploded in the bottom of the sixth inning with a six-run outburst as RBI singles by
Chris Harpine (Fredericksburg, Va./Colonial Forge), Smith, and Martin contributed to the attack. Guilford committed two errors in the inning, allowing sophomore first baseman
Jake Norman (Fredericksburg, Va./Colonial Forge) to drive in another run with a ground rule double to right-center.

Moles did the rest from there, keeping a lead-off single by Josh Sumler from scoring as he registered two strike outs and a fly out to end the game.
