Mary Washington Eagles Defeat EMU Baseball, 13-4

Will Wright had a game high four RBIs as the Mary Washington Eagles captured a 13-4 non-conference win over the Eastern Mennonite University baseball team Thursday afternoon in Harrisonburg, Va.
The Royals drop to 8-26 overall while the Eagles are at 20-8 overall. EMU will host the Tigers of Hampden-Sydney College on Saturday, April 12, at 12 p.m., for a key Old Dominion Athletic Conference match-up.
Mary Washington pounded out 13 hits in the game with Wright collecting four hits in six trips to the plate, including a home run, while Nick Espinosa and Frank Sheffield each had a pair of hits in the game. Dan Murdoch picked up the win in relief for the Eagles, pitching 6 2/3 innings and striking out five.

Jeff Walker (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron) was 2-for-4 with a run scored.
EMU responded to a 1-0 Mary Washington lead in the bottom of the second as Walker reached base on a double and came around to score on a wild pitch. Mary Washington tacked on two more runs in the top half of the third and followed that up with four more runs with Wright bring home two on an RBI triple in the fourth.
First baseman Alex Rossi had a hit and three RBIs while Riley Gorman scored three runs and drew four walks in the game.
Freshman outfielder
Ben Wise (Staunton, Va./Robert E. Lee) hit his second home run of the season and was 1-for-3 on the day.
