EMU (4-17, 0-8 ODAC) scored three runs in the first to claim an early lead, but R-MC (16-5, 7-1 ODAC) stormed back with eight unanswered runs. The Royals pulled as close as 10-7 after six innings, but the Yellow Jackets added two runs in the seventh and one in the eighth to put the game away. The contest was called after eight innings due to darkness.

Junior Brandon Zollman (Lexington, Va.) took the loss, dropping to 1-4 for the season. He allowed just five hits in five innings, but walked seven batters en route to eight runs allowed, seven earned. Four of the walks came around to score.
Wickham (Sandston, Va.) led the Yellow Jackets' 11-hit attack with his 3-for-4 performance, including a double. Freshman short stop Bruno Gora (Richmond, Va.) was the only other player with two hits, adding a run and an RBI.
EMU slugged 14 hits for the game with sophomore Jared Balinski (Enola, Pa.) and freshman Derek Butler (Charlottesville, Va.) collecting three apiece. Sophomore second baseman Jameson Jarvis (Culpeper, Va.) was 2-for-5 with a home run and two runs scored.
