FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The EMU men's baseball team was unable to rally back after Mary Washington scored four runs in the bottom half of the first and fell to the Eagles 9-1 Thursday afternoon. The Royals are now 0-1 on the season.
Starting pitcher Kevin Forry (Lancaster Pa./Lancaster) would labor through three innings, giving up seven runs, but only three would be earned. Drew Cobb (Staunton, Va./Wilson Memmorial) would pitch effectively in relief going two innings and allowing only one hit. Shelton Stevens (Fishersville, Va./Stuarts Draft) would go 1-4 with a run for the Royals.
EMU will be back in action at home this Saturday, February 21 against Southern Virginia. Game time is scheduled for 12 pm.
