Hall of Honor
The Loyal Royals recognize Paul T. & Marjorie Guengerich for their unending encouragement and support to the players, coaches and staff of the Eastern Mennonite University athletic program.
PT, as he was known to everyone, came to EMU from Iowa in 1964 and held many different positions until he retired from full-time work in 1981. He added another 25 years of part-time work in the Alumni Office retiring a second time in 2006. He was a walking encyclopedia of people's names and their families. The couple's 42 years of involvement with EMU and the greater Harrisonburg Community demonstrate their love for people and commitment to serve Christ.
PT and Marjorie were regulars at nearly all home sporting events, sitting in a spot where they could interact with people. They are persons of strong Christian faith, committed to the church and the education of young people. For their lives lived in service to EMU and their loyal support to the athletic program, the Loyal Royals honor them with the Royal Service Award, December 3, 2008
