Baseball Announces 2026 Schedule

HARRISONBURG, Va. – It may cold outside right now, but the spring sports season will be here before we know it. All this week, we will be looking ahead at the upcoming schedules for the spring teams. Today, we take a look at baseball as head coach Adam Posey recently announced their 2026 slate of games. Overall, the team will play 40 games, 24 of which will be held at home on Royals Field.

The Diamond Royals will open up the campaign with a trip to Christopher Newport for a 2 p.m. first pitch on Tuesday, Feb. 10. The following day, Wednesday, Feb. 11, EMU will have their home opener at when they welcome Regent to Harrisonburg for a 3 p.m. game. This will be the first game in program history for Regent, who are led by head coach and EMU Baseball alumnus Brett Lindsay. Former EMU standout Alex Gulisano is an assistant coach under Lindsay.

That weekend, Feb. 14-15, the Royals will head out-of-state for a three-game set against William Peace, with a Saturday doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. and a standalone game on Sunday at 1 p.m.

From there, EMU plays 13 of their next 14 games in the friendly confines of Royals Field. During that stretch, the Diamond Royals will play host to non-conference foes CNU (Feb. 17), Mary Baldwin (Feb. 18), a three-game series against Westminster College (PA) (Feb. 21-22), Messiah (Feb. 26), a doubleheader against PSU Altoona (Feb. 28), Regent (March 3), and a doubleheader versus Hilbert (March 7). The homestand concludes with the ODAC opening doubleheader against defending conference champion Lynchburg on Saturday, March 14. The Royals' lone road game during this stretch comes on Feb. 24 at Mary Washington.

It will be mostly ODAC play the rest of the way for the Diamond Royals. Coach Posey's team will play host to the following conference foes: Shenandoah (March 18), Washington & Lee (March 24), Hampden-Sydney (doubleheader on April 4), Virginia Wesleyan (doubleheader on April 11), Bridgewater (April 15), and Averett (doubleheader on April 26). EMU will hit the road to travel to these ODAC opponents: Roanoke (doubleheader on March 21), Randolph Macon (doubleheader on March 28), Bridgewater (April 1), Washington & Lee (April 7), Guilford (doubleheader on April 18), and Shenandoah (April 21).

EMU will have three more non-conference matchups intertwined within the ODAC slate. The Diamond Royals go on the road to Mary Baldwin on March 17, welcome in Mary Washington to Royals Field on March 25, and then head to Pennsylvania on April 8 to take on Messiah.
