HARRISONBURG, Va. – Director of Cross Country, Track & Field and Triathlon Bob Hepler recently announced the EMU Cross Country team's 2025 slate of meets. The Royals' distance runners will compete in five regular season meets this fall.

For the fifth year in a row, the cross country team will start the season by hosting the EMU Heritage XC Invitational on campus on Friday, Aug. 29. The women's team has finished first in the home meet for the past two seasons. From there, EMU XC will head to the eastern end of the state to run in the CNU XC Invitational, taking place on Friday, Sept. 12 at Lee Hall Mansion in Newport News, Va.

The Royals will then stay in the I-81 corridor of Virginia for the rest of the regular season. The team will make the trip just a few miles south for the Bridgewater Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 20, which will serve as a preview of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) championship course. That will be followed by a short journey north for the JMU Invitational at New Market Battlefield in New Market, Va., on Friday, Sept. 26. EMU will then wrap up the regular season portion of the schedule at Green Hill Park in Salem, Va., for the Roanoke XC Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 18.

The Royals will not have to travel far for the 2025 rendition of the ODAC Cross Country Championships, which will be hosted by Bridgewater College on Saturday, Nov. 1. The cross country team will then make its second trip to Green Hill Park in Salem, Va., for the NCAA South Region Championships on Saturday, Nov. 15. Finally, for those who qualify, the season wraps up with the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships at the Roger Milliken Center in Spartanburg, S.C., on Saturday, Nov. 22.
