BRIDGEWATER, Va.- On a sunny and picturesque day for a run, the EMU Cross Country teams put their training to the test against the best in their conference at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships, hosted at Bridgewater College.
As he has done all season,
Luke Buckwalter led the pack of Royal men in the conference championship, clocking in at a time of 28:42.6 for the 8k (4.97 miles) course.
Sam Daunt of Washington & Lee won the individual ODAC Championship with a time of 25:36.9, aiding the Generals to the team title with a low score of 27 points, narrowly defeating Lynchburg (33 pts.).
Highlights
- Team Score: 229 pts. (8th of 10)
- Buckwalter's time was good for 55th place overall against a tough field of the best runners in the ODAC.
- Nick Porcaro, a first-year from Charlottesville, Va., was the second Royal to complete the course, placing 72nd overall with a time of 29:41.6.
- Sam Myers placed 85th overall with a time of 31:16.6.
- Ethan Kanagy (87th/31:44.7), Logan Boyd (92nd/33:12.8), Noah Buckwalter (93rd/33:26.5), Alex Belisle (95th/34:17.7) and Ben Huyard (97th/35:00.4) completed the contingent of EMU men at ODACs.
What's Next
The postseason for EMU Cross Country continues with the NCAA South Region Championship at Green Hill Park in Salem, Va., on Saturday, Nov. 15. The meet is set to begin at 11 a.m.
