SALEM, Va.- For one last time in 2025, the EMU Cross Country team laced up their running shoes to compete in the NCAA Division III South Region Cross Country Championships at Green Hill Park in Salem, Va.
On the men's side,
Nick Porcaro led the way for the first time, and he did so with a personal record 8k (4.97 miles) time of 28:33.20.
The ODAC fared well in the South Region meet, with Lynchburg's Alex Jordan winning the individual title in 24:15.20 and Washington & Lee taking home the team title.
Highlights
- Team Score: 743 pts. (21st of 24)
- Porcaro finished 120th overall against a deep field of the best runners in the DIII South Region.
- Luke Buckwalter finished right on Porcaro's heels, crossing the line in 124th place with a time of 28:35.30.
- Samuel Myers was the second Royal runner to run a personal best time on Saturday, clocking in at 30:17.20 to finish 139th. Myers topped his previous 8k PR by 57 seconds.
- Ben Huyard (153rd/32:21.50), Alex Belisle (156th/32:36.80), and Noah Buckwalter (161st/33:44.30) rounded out the Royals' lineup in Salem.

That is a wrap on the 2025 season for EMU Cross Country. The Royals' distance runners will take a short break before looking ahead to the indoor and outdoor track & field campaigns.
