Raleigh, Nc. – The Royals softball traveled to North Carolina to compete in the Triangle Softball Classic where they would face the Panthers of LaGrange College. 

In this non-conference matchup the Royals were able to pick up an 11-0 win over the Panthers. The third through sixth innings proved to be fruitful for the Royals as they would end this game at the bottom of the sixth.

Highlights

• The Royals scored their first run of the game in the top of the third inning when Samantha Hensley singled on a hard ground ball to left field. Hensley earned an RBI as Emerson Adkins reached home. Grace Fravel then singled on a line drive to left field, also gaining an RBI as she helped Reese Rogers reach home. EMU would head into the next inning holding the lead with a score of 4-0. 

• Through the first three innings the Royals would hold the Panthers scoreless in the game and continued to extend the lead in the top of the fourth. Junior Samantha Hensley hit a double to right field on a line drive. She would earn 2 RBI's as Adkins and Rogers would score. The score would now be 6-0 to EMU. 

• In the top of the sixth inning Fravel would get things started as she reached on an error, this would lead to Rogers scoring. Graham would then score on a passed ball after a couple errors committed by LaGrange. The last run of the game would come off an RBI from catcher Autumn Bailey as Taylor Umberger scored.
