Early Goals Knock Out EMU Men

Box Score

A drastic change of momentum turned the tides on EMU's soccer men Sunday afternoon in a 2-0 non-conference loss at Frostburg State.  The Royals fall to 2-4 as they prepare for their ODAC opener, which is Saturday afternoon at Guilford College.

Eastern Mennonite controlled the first 10 minutes against the Bobcats, earning two corners and a shot.  But in the 12th minute, Frostburg State suddenly struck, getting a goal from Guy Nabo on their first attempt of the game.  The home team scored again four minutes later when Mitchell Muise connected after a corner kick.

The men struggled to recover from the outburst, as they put on two shots on goal in the game.  EMU was out-shot 18-12.  Matthew Overacker (Mount Crawford, Va./Turner Ashby) had four saves.

Dominic Powers (Culpeper, Va./Fiesta Valley) had four shots for the Royals while Juan Luna (Mount Jackson, Va./Stonewall Jackson) took three.
