Lynchburg Defeats EMU 6-2

The Eastern Mennonite University field hockey team was defeated with a 6-2 win conference victory for Lynchburg Friday afternoon on the EMU turf field.

Lynchburg scored the first two goals of the game with Laura Christianson and Morgan Crandall scoring. EMU came back to score a goal by Sarah Roth and an assist from junior Lauren Michel (Princess Ann, Md.). Lynchburg scored two more goals in the first period to make the score 4-1. In the second period, Lynchburg scored two more goals both by Allie Weir. EMU scored another goal by senior Kristie Souder (Telford, Pa.) (unassisted).

Freshman Alyssa Borucki (Medford, N.J.) had two saves for EMU.

The Lady Royals next contest will be against Franklin & Marshall on Wednesday, September 20, at 4:30 p.m.
