SALISBURY, Md. – EMU Men's Soccer played their second game in as many days in The Old Line State, doing battle with St. Mary's (MD) in day 2 of the Elmer Lord Memorial Tournament at Salisbury University.
Trailing 3-0 at the half, the Royals put together a spirited comeback attempt to get within a goal, but in the end, they fell to the Seahawks by a final score of 4-2.

Highlights
- The Seahawks owned the first half, rattling off three unanswered goals by Braden Kindred, Nick Haney and Zach Blaum to go up 3-0 on EMU at the break.
- 70' | The Royals broke through for the first goal of the game—and the season—when first-year Arthur Etoa sent a beautiful cross into the box to fellow newcomer Xavier Barravino, who chipped it into the back of the net to make it a 3-1 ball game.
- 77' | A few moments later, sophomore Elijah Byrd ran in from left of the box to boot the ball home following assists from Kane Kiernan and Dani Espana to get EMU within a goal at 3-2.
- However, the Royals could not complete the comeback as St. Mary's put the game out of reach with an 83rd minute goal by Haney, his second of the game.
