Clymer, Rondema Compete for Triathlon at Robious Landing

MIDLOTHIAN, Va.- After opening their 2026 season in our nation's capital, the EMU Triathlon team headed to the outskirts of Virginia's state capital to compete against several collegiate teams at the Robious Landing Triathlon at Robious Landing Park in Midlothian, Va. The athletes participated in a sprint triathlon, consisting of a 750-meter swim in the James River, a 20-kilometer bike ride and a 5k run to finish.
 
Zoe Clymer and Anna Rondema represented the Royals against collegiate field that included athletes from Barton College, Delaware State, Gallaudet, Hampton, Navy, and Queens University of Charlotte.

Highlights
  • Clymer finished 22nd overall in a cumulative time of 1:14:13.78. Clymer, a senior from Meridian, Miss., completed the swim in 10:04.47, the 20k bike segment in 37:37.32, and the 5k run in 25:03.27.
  • Rondema, a first-year from Portland, Ore., participated in the swim and bike segments only. She registered an impressive split of 9:01.18 in the 750m swim, the 18th-fastest swim time in the field.
What's Next
The EMU women's triathlon team will continue their theme of competing in capital cities when they travel to Annapolis, Md., for the Navy Collegiate Cup on Sunday, Oct. 4. The race is scheduled to commence on Sunday, Oct. 4.
