Highlights
First Half
- Hood took a 5-0 lead after one, picking up five goals on six shots, with Alyssa Hunter picking up a save. EMU's offense was able to get two shots on net, one each from Hailey Walker and Ava Schwartz, but both were saved by the Hood keeper.
- In the second quarter, HC pushed their lead to seven with a pair of goals in the first minute and a half. Another Blazer goal at the 6:57 mark extended their lead, but EMU answered with just over four minutes left. Shayleigh Sims found Kaylene Todd in front of the goal, and Todd's shot got past the keeper for her first collegiate goal. Hunter added four more saves in the final four minutes to send the teams to the locker room with Hood ahead 8-1.
Third Quarter
- Hood pushed their lead to 10-1 with two goals in the first five minutes of the third quarter. But EMU responded, cutting into the Blazers lead. Ava Walker picked up her first goal of the game at the 9:14 mark. That was followed by another Walker goal, this time from Hailey Walker, pulling EMU within seven.
- After another Hood goal, Todd scored her second goal of the game, cutting EMU's deficit to 11-4. Ari Smart picked a great time to score her first collegiate goal, taking a pass from Schwartz and putting her shot past the Hood keeper, as the quarter ended with Hood ahead 11-5.
Fourth Quarter
- Sims scored quickly for the Royals, getting them within five just 34 seconds into the quarter. Unfortunately for EMU, that would be their final goal of the game, as Hood reeled off nine straight to secure the win.
