LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Royals made the trip to the Hill City on Saturday, for an ODAC showdown with the University of Lynchburg.
The Hornets showed their firepower, scoring at least four goals in all four quarters en route to a 23-1 win.

Highlights
First Half
- Lynchburg got on the board first to start the game, putting up a 2-0 lead by the 13:00 mark of the first quarter. Ava Walker won the subsequent draw control and took it into the Hornets offensive zone, firing a shot on net. But it was saved by the keeper, keeping EMU off the board.
- Three more goals gave Lynchburg a 5-0 lead, but EMU answered with one of their own right afterwards. After a save from Alyssa Hunter, EMU had a successful clear attempt, which led to Shayleigh Sims getting to net and firing a shot, putting it past the Hornets keeper to pull EMU within 5-1.
- Lynchburg tacked on two more goals in the frame, while Hunter added another save.
- In the second quarter, Hunter added two more saves, while A. Walker registered another shot on goal that was saved. In the quarter, however, Lynchburg added seven more goals, taking a 14-1 lead into the break.
Second Quarter
- After two goals to start the third for Lynchburg, Sims tried to tally her second of the game, but it was stopped by the Hornets netminder. Hunter picked up another save, but Lynchburg was able to extend their lead with five more goals for a 19-1 advantage.
- In the final frame, the Hornets were able to put four more goal on the board, with Hunter picking up one more save. EMU had a scoring chance midway through the quarter, but Kaylene Todd's free position shot was saved.
