LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Royals had their first ODAC road game of the season on Saturday, making the rainy trip to Lynchburg to take on Randolph.
After a scoreless first half,
Esme Cardoso's goal in the 63rd minute, combined with a defense that allowed just three shots on goal, all saved, the Royals picked up a 1-0 ODAC win over the WildCats.

Highlights
- Both teams were looking to get on the board early, as the WildCats put a shot on goal in the fourth minute, that was saved by Katie Parks, and EMU put two shots on goal, one each from Bridget Hay and one from Addison Fornadel, both of which were saved, to keep the game scoreless.
- The Royals defense held the WildCats without a shot on goal for the rest of the half, while Leah Beachy and Hay, each had SOG for EMU, but to no avail. The teams went to the locker room scoreless after the first 45 minutes.
- In the second half, the Royals were finally able to take advantage of their opportunities. Off a WildCat foul, Karina Bondaruk's pass found Cardoso whose left-footed shot beat the keeper to the top right corner, for a 1-0 EMU lead.
- CJ Jefferson, who replaced Parks at the half, came up with two saves in the final 22 minutes, to keep the shutout intact and help the Royals pick up the conference win.

What's Next
