BRIDGEWATER, Va.- The EMU Cross Country teams resumed their 2025 schedule on Saturday with a short trip down Route 42 for the Bridgewater Invitational at Bridgewater College. For the Royals, the meet doubled as a chance to preview the course for the ODAC XC Championships on Nov. 1.
The women's team collected their second runner-up finish of the season, scoring 55 points as a squad in the 6k (3.72 miles) race.
Erin Loker, a sophomore from Harrisonburg, led the Royal charge with a second-place finish individually. Loker was not the only EMU runner on the podium as
Elili Asefa, a senior from Lancaster, Pa., took home third place overall.
Olivia Morra of Bridgewater won the women's 6k with a time of 23:27.36, and the Eagles won as the host team with a score of 23 points.
Highlights

- Loker clocked in at 24:22.71 for 6k, while Asefa traversed the course in 25:36.22.
- Claire Hurst (11th/29:58.95), Emmy Teodoro (20th/36:17.09) and Emilee White (23rd/40:35.77) rounded out the scoring five for the Royals.
What's Next
The EMU cross country teams will lace up their racing shoes again on Friday, Sept. 26 for the JMU Invitational at New Market Battlefield in New Market, Va. The women's 5k gets underway at 5 p.m., followed by the men's 8k at 5:30 p.m.
