BRIDGEWATER, Va. – EMU Men's Soccer took the short trip across town on Wednesday to renew the Route 42 Rivalry at Bridgewater. While it was technically a non-conference game that did not count towards the ODAC standings, there was no shortage of energy, intensity and drama in the latest battle between the Royals and the Eagles, which ultimately ended in a scoreless draw.
Ryan Bousfield had a breakthrough performance in net as the Royals' goalkeeper. The first-year from Richmond, Va., grabbed nine saves on the way to the first clean sheet of his college career.
Wednesday marked just the second draw in 35 overall meetings between EMU and Bridgewater. The Royals continue to lead the all-time series with a record of 21-12-2 against the Eagles.
