Royals Hold Eagles Scoreless in the Second Half in Road Loss

HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Royals took a Tuesday trip up north, heading to PA for a showdown with Juniata.

EMU's defense was stout, holding the Eagles to just seven shots on goal in the 60 minutes. But two of those shots found the back of the net as Juniata picked up its first win of the season, 2-0.

Records: EMU 0-5, 0-0 ODAC | Juniata 1-6, 0-0 Landmark

Highlights
  • Emma Huante picked up her first save of the game in the ninth minute, keeping JC off the scoreboard. 30 seconds later, however, the Eagles were able to find the back of the cage and take a 1-0 lead.
  • The Royals added three saves in the second quarter, but an EMU foul in the 19th minute, awarded a penalty stroke to Juniata. The Eagles' shot glanced off Huante's pad and up into the goal, putting JC ahead 2-0 at the break.
  • Neither team had a shot in the third frame, as both defenses continued to play well. In the fourth, EMU picked up their first shot on goal, when Camryn Lohr's pass found Jada Gibson in the circle. Gibson sent a shot at the Eagles keeper, but she kicked it away, keeping the shutout intact. Huante picked up one more save, her fifth of the game, in the final minute.
