Highlights
First Inning
- Royals starter, Keenan Fulwood struck out the opening batter, before an error put a runner on first. A walk advanced the runner, putting two on, before a two-RBI double gave PSU-Behrend a 2-0 lead. After another walk, a 6-4-3 double play got EMU out of the inning.
- In EMU's half of the inning, two runners reached base, but both were caught stealing, along with a strikeout, to keep the Royals off the board.
Second Inning
- A walk, hit by pitch and a single loaded the bases, followed by an RBI single and a sac fly, extending the Lions lead to 4-0. A pop out ended the threat, bringing EMU to the plate.
- Dalton Rocke picked up one-out double, and advanced to third on Dylan Hall's single, but a base running error ended EMU's half of the second.
Third Inning
- Dylan McClellan came in to pitch in the third, and worked around a one-out double to keep the Lions off the board. In EMU's half of the third, Jett Cabanban led off with a hit-by-pitch, stole second and came in to score on a PSU-Behrend error, cutting into the Lions lead.
Fourth Inning
- A two-run homerun in the top of the fourth, pushed PSU-B's lead to 6-1, before McClellan settled down and got the final out on a fly out to center.
- EMU struck back for four in the bottom of the fourth, cutting the Lions lead to one. Daniel McGinnis walked and came in to score on Erik Wilkinson's RBI triple. Dylan Hall then turned on a pitch and drove it over the left field wall for his first home run of the year, making the score 6-4.
- After a strikeout, Trevor Gjormand walked and Chris Polymeropoulos was hit by a pitch. A wild pitch put runners on second and third, and Gjormand scored on an RBI single from Aidan Miller, to wrap up EMU's scoring.
Fifth Inning
- Carter Cashin came in to pitch for the fifth, and the Lions were able to extend their lead with a run after back-to-back doubles. Josh Rudd came in and, despite issuing a walk to load the bases, was able to keep the PSU-Behrend damage to just the one run, getting a ground out and a strikeout to end the inning. Unfortunately for EMU, the Lions reliever came in and sat EMU down in order to keep a two-run lead.
Sixth Inning
- Penn State Behrend got to Rudd for three runs in the sixth, using three hits to take a 10-5 lead.
- EMU clawed back in, in the bottom of the sixth, with Cabanban leading off with a double, Josh Gjormand drawing a walk and Polymeropoulos singling to load the bases. Nick Arnold drove in Cabanban, followed by another run scoring, when McGinnis reached on an error for an RBI. Rocke's sacrifice fly to right plated Polymeropoulos, making the score 10-8 heading to the seventh.
Seventh Inning
- Marcus Smith came in and shut the Lions down in order in their half of the seventh. In the Royals at-bat, Noah Sanderson picked up a two-out single up the middle and Polymeropoulos walked, putting runners on first and second. But a fly out ended the threat, and the game, for EMU.

A wild pitch plated a run, giving the Lions a 1-0 lead, but Pendleton got a ground out to get out of the frame.
- Polymeropoulos reached on an error to start the Royals half of the first and stole second with two outs, but a ground out to the pitcher ended the EMU threat.

Third Inning
- PSU-Behrend pulled ahead with a run in the third, using a pair of two-out hits and an EMU error to plate a run, before Pendleton got a fly out to end the frame.
- The Royals responded with three of their own in the third, as Miller was hit by a pitch, moved to second on Arnold's base hit and they both came in to score on McGinnis' double.
- Erik Wilkinson followed that up with a single before J. Gjormand's sac fly to right played McGinnis, giving EMU a 4-2 advantage.
Fourth Inning
- Once again, the Lions were able to plate a run in the fourth, using a walk, a hit-by-pitch, a single and a sac fly to cut EMU's lead to 4-3. But Pendleton got the next batter to fly out to left, and the runner on second was doubled up when he got too far off the bag.
- The Royals got the run back in the bottom of the frame after Noah Sanderson was hit by a pitch, and eventually came around to score on Arnold's RBI fielder's choice.
