HARRISONBURG, Va. - The Royals had their home ODAC opener on Tuesday, welcoming in the Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan to Harrisonburg.

VWU scored at least one goal in all four quarters, en route to a 5-0 win over EMU.

Records: EMU 0-10, 0-2 ODAC | Virginia Wesleyan 4-5, 1-1 ODAC

Highlights
  • The Marlins got on the board early, turning their first shot on goal into a goal, just 2:24 into the game, for a 1-0 lead. Emma Huante picked up a save to keep EMU within one after one.
  • In the second, Huante added three more saves, pushing her total to four for the game. But VWU was able to tack on a goal at 19:35 and take a 2-0 lead into the half.
  • Virginia Wesleyan added three more goals in the second half, two in the third and one in the fourth, respectively, to extend their lead to five.
