HARRISONBURG, Va. - The Royals welcomed in Sweet Briar College to the Burg on Saturday, for a Senior Day showdown against the Vixens. 

EMU played stout defense, but a pair of untimely fouls led to two penalty strokes for SBC, which converted them both, for a 2-0 win.

Highlights

• Emma Huante picked up three saves in the first quarter, keeping Sweet Briar off the board through the first 15 minutes. EMU's offense had some chances, but weren't able to put anything on net, as the game was locked at zero after one. 
• Camryn Lohr picked up EMU's first shot on goal in the 20th minute, but it was saved to keep EMU scoreless. After a defensive save by Sophia Armato and a Huante save, the Royals were called for a foul in the box and SBC was awared a penalty stroke. Gigi Hutman stepped up, took it and buried it in the back of the cage for a 1-0 lead. 
• Another defensive save happened in the third quarter, this time by Shay Gough, but once again the Vixens were awarded a penalty stroke after a foul. This time it was Antonia Supino who picked up the goal, pushing Sweet Briar's lead to 2-0. Huante added one more save, and EMU was held without a shot on goal, as both defenses played lock down for the final 22 minutes.

What's Next
This was the Royals home finale, but they'll be back in action on Wednesday when they head to Lexington to take on Washington and Lee. Gametime against the Generals is set for 7:00 pm.
