Royals Fall to Nationally-Ranked Hornets at Home

HARRISONBURG, Va. - The Royals had a tall task in front of them on Wednesday, as they welcomed in #20 Shenandoah to the EMU Turf Field. 

The Hornets had goals in all four quarters, while holding the Royals without a shot on goal, as they headed home with an 8-0 win.

Highlights
  • Emma Huante picked up her first save of the game on a shot by the Hornets, just 40 seconds into the game. In the third minute, Reagan Flory gave SU a 1-0 lead, followed by a goal by Claudia Lenahan in the sixth minute. Huante added seven saves to her total, as the lead was just 2-0 after one. 
  • Two more saves from Huante highlighted the second quarter for the Royals, as the Hornets added three more goals to lead 5-0 at the half. 
  • Huante finished the second half with six more saves, pushing her game total to 16. EMU's defense held the Hornets to just three second-half goals: one in the third quarter and two in the fourth, to round out the scoring.

What's Next
