CHESTERFIELD, Va.-Â The athletes of EMU Women's Triathlon packed up their gear for a trip to the Richmond area to participate in the Robious Landing Triathlon, held at Robious Landing Park in Chesterfield, Va.

All five of the Royals' triathletes competed in the NCAA Collegiate Cup division, going up against athletes from 12 other schools, including Division I schools such as Navy, Hampton, and Duquesne. Due to unsafe conditions in the James River, the race was changed to a duathlon format, starting with a one-mile run, followed by a 20k (12.4 miles) bike ride, and finishing with a  5k (3.1 miles) run.
Highlights
- Jenna Weaver was the first Royal across the finish line, crossing the finish line in 36th place with a time of 1:06:47.59. Weaver placed first overall among Division III athletes in the field.
- Ella Richer came home in 47th place, going the distance in a time of 1:10:22.48. She was followed closely by Zoe Clymer, who claimed 50th overall and completed the course in 1:12:30.64.
- Sarah Wheeler (62nd/1:22:11.40) and Daisy Buller (67th/1:25:25.33) rounded out the contingent of Royal athletes.

What's Next
The EMU triathletes will begin the most important part of their schedule, traveling to Troutman, N.C., for the NCAA East Region Qualifier on Saturday, Oct. 12. The race is set to go off at 8 a.m.
