LYNCHBURG, Va.  – After opening ODAC play with a home loss, the EMU Men's Soccer team looked to bounce back in a road match at Randolph College on Saturday.
 That mission was somewhat accomplished as the Royals went into Lynchburg and came away with a 0-0 draw against the WildCats, gaining one point in the ODAC table.  

Records: EMU 4-3-3, 0-1-1 ODAC | Randolph 2-2-5, 1-0-1 ODAC

Highlights

• The Royals mustered a great early chance in the seventh minute as Carlos Ventura booted the ball towards the low right side of the net, only for the Randolph goalkeeper to make the save.
• EMU's other shot on goal came in the 80th minute off the toe of Ford DeVault.  DeVault aimed for the top half of the net, but the WildCats keeper Carter Kelly was able to reach up to make the stop.
• Andrew Arledge and the Royals' defense orchestrated their seventh shutout in 10 matches this season. Arledge leads all ODAC goalies with six clean sheets so far in 2024.

What's Next
The EMU Men's Soccer team stays on the road this Wednesday, Oct. 2, traveling to Ashland to take on Randolph Macon. Opening kick against the Yellow Jackets is set for 7 p.m.
