HARRISONBURG, Va.  – The EMU Men's Soccer Royals returned home from a three-game road trip to play hosts to the Knights of Southern Virginia, members of the USA South Conference.
 
Following a one-hour delay due to inclement weather, the two sides engaged in a back-and-forth battle for all 90 minutes. However, both the Royals and the Knights failed to find the back of the net, leading to a scoreless draw.

Highlights

• The Royals got their first good chance of the match when Josiah King aimed for the center of the net, only for SVU goalkeeper Dallin Chappell to make the save. A few minutes later, SVU countered with their lone shot on goal of the night, which was easily saved by EMU's Andrew Arledge.
• First-year Bryan Rodriguez got two shots on goal in quick succession late in the first half, leading the Royals in that category.
• The Royals' best chance of the second half came when Derek Torres sent a ball that got deflected towards the net, but Chappell managed to make the diving save.  
• With the draw, EMU extends their unbeaten streak to five matches, equaling a similar streak the Royals had from Sept. 16-30 of last season.

What's Next
The EMU Men's Soccer team opens ODAC play at home this Wednesday, Sept. 25 when they play host to the Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan. Opening whistle from the Turf Field is scheduled for 5 p.m.
