ASTON, Pa. - The EMU Field Hockey team wrapped up their weekend in PA on Saturday, taking on Lancaster Bible. 

It was a defensive battle for both teams, but the Chargers were able to squeak in a pair of goals, one in the second and one in the fourth quarter, to pick up a 2-0 win. 

Records: EMU 0-2, 0-0 ODAC | Lancaster Bible 1-1, 0-0 United East

Highlights

• Both teams played lockdown defense in the first quarter, as neither team was able to get off a shot and the score remained tied at 0 after the first 15 minutes. 
• Gracyn Arruda picked up her first save of the game less than five minutes into the second quarter, keeping the Chargers off the board. Kristen Andersen registered a shot for EMU, but it sailed wide. 
• 30' - After Arruda came up with a save on an LBC shot, the rebound found the back of the cage for a 1-0 Lancaster Bible lead. 
• In the third, it looked like LBC would add to their lead, but Kayla Lindsay was there to register the defensive save and keep the game at 1-0 after three, with Arruda picking up two more saves. 
• 50' - Lancaster Bible added to their lead with a goal at the 49:20 mark of the fourth. Morgan Leslie was able to get a shot on cage in the game's final seconds, but it was saved by the LBC keeper to secure the win.

What's Next
EMU will open up their 2024 home slate on Wednesday, when they welcome Goucher to Harrisonburg. Game time is set for 6 pm.
