ASTON, Pa. - The EMU Field Hockey team hit the road on Friday, heading to the Keystone State for their season opener.
The Knights led 3-0 at the half, and used four second half goals to secure a 7-0 win over the Royals.

Highlights
- The Knights came out swinging, literally, in the first quarter, as they peppered Royals keeper Gracyn Arruda with shots. The sophomore saved her first four, including a penalty stroke, to keep NU off the board.
- 14' - In the 14th minute, after another Arruda save, the rebound shot found the back of the cage to put Neumann up 1-0.
- Two more saves from Arruda kept the game at 1-0 early in the second quarter, but the Knights were able to tack on a pair of goals to take a 3-0 lead at the half.
- Neumann broke the game open with three goals in the third, for a 6-0 lead after three. Courtney Crawford picked up EMU's first shot on goal at the 43:15 mark, but it was saved by the Knights keeper. Eve Detter added another shot in the fourth, but the Neumann keeper once again came up with the save to keep the Royals off the board.

EMU will have another chance to get in the win column on Saturday, when they take on Lancaster Bible. Game time is slated for 6 pm.
